A simple, rum-forward Donn-era proto-cocktail in the Demerara family, lime, demerara syrup, aged Demerara rum, and a dash of Angostura.

Ingredients

  • fresh lime juice (0.5 oz)
  • demerara syrup (0.5 oz)
  • Angostura bitters (1 dash)
  • aged Demerara rum (2 oz)
  • ice cube (1)
  • lime wheel (1)

Instructions

  1. In a double old-fashioned glass combine fresh lime juice, demerara syrup, Angostura bitters, and aged Demerara rum.
  2. Add a large ice cube and stir briefly to combine.
  3. Garnish with a lime wheel.
