Don's Own Grog
Donn Beach's self-attributed 1937 grog, a three-rum blend laced with blackberry liqueur, demerara, and a dash of grenadine.
Ingredients
- fresh lime juice (0.75 oz)
- demerara syrup (0.25 oz)
- grenadine (1 dash)
- Angostura bitters (2 dash)
- creme de mure (0.5 oz)
- light Puerto Rican rum (0.5 oz)
- blended aged rum (1 oz)
- dark Jamaican rum (0.5 oz)
- grated nutmeg (1 pinch)
Instructions
- In a shaker combine fresh lime juice, demerara syrup, grenadine, Angostura bitters, creme de mure, light Puerto Rican rum, blended aged rum, and dark Jamaican rum.
- Add cracked ice and shake hard for .
- Strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
