Donn Beach's self-attributed 1937 grog, a three-rum blend laced with blackberry liqueur, demerara, and a dash of grenadine.

Ingredients

  • fresh lime juice (0.75 oz)
  • demerara syrup (0.25 oz)
  • grenadine (1 dash)
  • Angostura bitters (2 dash)
  • creme de mure (0.5 oz)
  • light Puerto Rican rum (0.5 oz)
  • blended aged rum (1 oz)
  • dark Jamaican rum (0.5 oz)
  • grated nutmeg (1 pinch)

Instructions

  1. In a shaker combine fresh lime juice, demerara syrup, grenadine, Angostura bitters, creme de mure, light Puerto Rican rum, blended aged rum, and dark Jamaican rum.
  2. Add cracked ice and shake hard for .
  3. Strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
