Donn Beach catalog rum sour with grapefruit, lime, and a touch of grenadine, a structural cousin to the Beachcomber's Punch.

Ingredients

  • fresh lime juice (0.5 oz)
  • fresh grapefruit juice (1 oz)
  • rich Demerara syrup (0.5 oz)
  • grenadine (0.25 oz)
  • Angostura bitters (1 dash)
  • light Puerto Rican rum (1 oz)
  • aged pot-still Jamaican rum (1 oz)
  • mint sprig (1)
  • pineapple wedge (1)

Instructions

  1. In a shaker combine fresh lime juice, fresh grapefruit juice, rich Demerara syrup, grenadine, Angostura bitters, light Puerto Rican rum, and aged pot-still Jamaican rum.
  2. Shake hard with crushed ice and pour unstrained into a double old-fashioned glass.
  3. Garnish with a mint sprig and a pineapple wedge.
