Ancient Mariner
Beachbum Berry's modern-revival riff on the Navy Grog, splitting Demerara and dark Jamaican rum and accenting with grapefruit and allspice dram.
Ingredients
- fresh lime juice (1 oz)
- fresh grapefruit juice (0.5 oz)
- allspice dram (0.5 oz)
- aged Demerara rum (1 oz)
- dark Jamaican rum (1 oz)
- crushed ice (1 cup)
- mint sprig (1)
- orange wheel (1)
Instructions
- In a shaker combine fresh lime juice, fresh grapefruit juice, allspice dram, aged Demerara rum, and dark Jamaican rum.
- Add crushed ice and shake until chilled, about .
- Pour unstrained into a double old-fashioned glass.
- Garnish with a mint sprig and an orange wheel.
